The first line treatment for eating disorders is called Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E). “It’s a well-studied treatment, and it’s really considered the gold standard treatment for any form of disordered eating,” explains Melissa Gerson, LCSW, Columbus Park Clinical Director and Founder. “The understanding is that all of these conditions share common foundational features, so they need to be treated in a very similar way.

CBT-E is fast-moving and time-limited.

It is designed to target the factors that keep patients locked into their eating struggles.
